Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has admitted to frustrations from cartels stalling the government’s intended reforms in the tea and coffee sectors, further pointing an accusing finger at the judiciary for compounding the problem by allegedly stopping reforms proposed in the tea amendment bill, 2023. Other Kenya Kwanza lawmakers who spoke in Elgeyo Marakwet County have threatened to slash the judiciary’s budget, over what they termed as issuance of court orders which according to them stopped major government projects.
